The Final Weeks of the January Pass

Everybody says it...but where DID January go? There are less than two weeks left on the January Pass, which ends on Saturday, February 4th. The cost of the Pass has dropped to $10, and the cost of the Super Class Pass has also dropped to $130. If you haven't picked up yours yet (is there anyone out there who hasn't picked up theirs yet??), head on up to the Front Desk!

Get the scoop...RiverWinds TEN YEAR Anniversary is this March...and we're planning on celebrating with those members, residents, and guests who made us a success: YOU. Put Friday, March 2nd on your calendar, and remember, you heard it here first!

Session 1 Swim Lessons have been posted on the website and we're accepting enrollments, so check out the schedule and pick your childs' class.

The Session 1 booklet will be posted to our website, RiverWinds.org, within the week. Check back often for the newest and brightest at RiverWinds.

What else has been going on at the 'Winds? The past week has been a busy one: we hosted a near-sell-out Discover SCUBA class, which has really taken off in the past few months since we've started offering the $30 intro clinic. Extra slide hours were posted for the MLK holiday and enjoyed immensely by kids off from school, as were the Kids' and Tiny Kids' Craft workshops. Adults didn't miss out on the fun, either, as their craft classes offered a myriad of options to choose from to get that creative muscle flexed. We know it has you ready for more, and we're excited to offer you the latest clinics in the coming months!

Finally, RiverWinds will host a FREE Internet Safety Seminar on Wednesday, March 14th at 7 p.m. in the Community Room. The event is sponsored by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s High Tech Crimes Unit.  Parents and children are welcomed, and interested families can RSVP by email at info@spgent.com.  More information can be found at www.spgent.com or by calling 856-397-3118.

Remember to LIKE us on Facebook, follow us on Twitter @RiverWinds, and check our website, too!

We'll see you there!

Walkin' in a Rainy Wonderland

Our members and residents are taking their 2012 Fitness Resolutions seriously! We have been seeing some incredible motivation and dedication on the fitness floor these past couple weeks, and we're loving it! Keep that energy level high!

After the snow of the last two years, some rain and mild January weather are a welcome change of pace! Our members and residents are taking to the streets, enjoying unseasonably warmer temperatures with long walks up and down RiverWinds Drive before hitting the pools and gymnasiums. But we're not counting out Old Man Winter just yet...in case of snow or ice, check in with our automated assistant at 856-251-1410 to see if there's a change in hours. We'll also post here, on our Facebook, Twitter, and website, too, so no one should miss out!

We had a great weekend hosting the Special Olympics, and the athletes participating were amazing. They continue to inspire us to work hard and be our best.

Speaking of the weekend, we were packed with guests as the kids enjoyed a long weekend home from school. The slide had some extra hours that were enjoyed by all in the pools, and there were some epic ping pong battles in the lobby!

The January Pass will be dropping to $10 on Monday the 23rd, and the Super Class Pass will also fall to $130 that day. On February 5th, the Super Class Pass will go down to $120. Plan your 2012 workouts early!

Discounted tickets to Big Boulder/Jack Frost and Blue Mountain are coming, though we do not yet know when. Discounts will vary by time of day and day of the week. We'll keep you posted!

The March lifeguarding class is filling up quickly, so if you or someone you know is interested in obtaining a certification, call quickly; enrollments are on a first-come, first-served basis. Likewise, the CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer course will run on Monday, March 19th. Call to reserve your spot today!
We're taking appointments for the American Red Cross Blood Drive, held in our Community Room on February 3rd from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Help donate and combat the chronic shortage in the Delaware Valley. Free juice and cookies!
Applications for Summer Internships are due by February 15th. Come to RiverWinds and learn an abundance of skills from operations management to finance to marketing! And interns enjoy a FREE center membership while working!

Discover SCUBA will run on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the Lap Pool. Get your feet wet and try out this amazing adventure sport without committing to the entire Open Water Certification course. Only $30!
And for those who are looking for the whole cert, we have our February and March classes listed on the website, and new Spring dates on the way! Check back often for updates.

Here's hoping your new year has started out spectacularly, and we look forward to seeing you at the facility!

January Pass in Full Swing!

It's amazing to see how quickly we all fall back into step after the holidays, isn't it? It's also incredibly inspiring to see people take control of their lives and make a committment to being healthy, and we've seen a ton of that on our fitness floor in only a week and a half. We're selling memberships left and right, and see the results daily. You go, Members!

Our January Pass is getting a lot of action: lots of great classes on land and in the water, with old favorites like Senior Splash, Spinning, Zumba, and Yoga, and new blockbusters like Piloxing and Barre. You can get your Pass for only $20, or get your Super Class Pass, good thru 12/31/12, for $140!

We're looking ahead to some great crafting: the adult workshops on the 12th, 18th, and 23rd give some wonderful opportunity to get creative. Bisqueware, glassware, jewelry, and wreaths are some of the items available to work on, and again, these classes are open to the public!

Kids aren't left out, either, as those 6-12 can take a two-part papier mache workshop on the 11th and 18th from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Toddlers are also in on the fun: 1/19 hosts a doll making class at 10:00 a.m., so your 3-6 year olds have an excuse to get messy!

The American Red Cross Lifeguarding course is filling fast, so if there's anyone 15 years of age or older who is interested, have them sign up today.

The weather has been very kind to us so far (and after the past couple of years, we've earned it!), but if you're not sure if inclement weather is affecting hours, call 856.251.1410 for our automated information assistant.

We're seeing a lot of you this new year, and we love it!

Remember, you can sign up for classes and programs in person or over the phone using a Visa or Mastercard.

We'll see you at the facility!
