End 2009 with a Bang...at the 'Winds!

Well, we made it through the snow! It was a tricky weekend, but our three-hour spin ride was still a success, the tournaments had a great finish, and we all survived the various plow-or-no-plow nightmares around the county. Score!

And we're not even done! We have a New Year's Eve ZUMBA class scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on the 31st which will be a great way to jump start your night...and 2010!

If you're like us and looking excitedly ahead to the new year, take note: our January Pass is for sale at the bargain price of $19.99 for all the land and water group ex you can handle for the first month of the year, and we're starting programming off right with a hot Vinyasa flow yoga class on the 2nd at 9:00 a.m....90 minutes of some real zen!

Remember to keep abreast of the latest news at the 'Winds by checking back to our blog weekly. We also tweet, so check out Twitter.com/RiverWinds...and we're ALL over Facebook! Friend us at RiverWinds Community-Center, be a fan of The RiverWinds Community Center, and join the RiverWinds Community Center group. You don't have to have an account with either site to check it out. Great tools for all you need to know about the comings and goings at your favorite Community Center. Finally, don't forget to refer to our website, RiverWinds.org. We always welcome feedback, so lay it on us at info@RiverWinds.org.

Remember, we have a noontime closing for Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and we're closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day...enjoy your holidays with family and friends, and we can't wait to see you in '10!

8th Annual Holiday Party a Smashing Success!

The 8th Annual Holiday party was an amazing success (no surprise there)!

Hundreds of members and guests got into the holiday spirit on Friday, December 11th, with activities for the young and young at heart.

Santa and Mrs. C. were on hand for picture taking and wish-whispering, and kiddies received an early Christmas present from the big guy by way of holiday themed coloring packets!  Gingerbread ornaments and bells were available for some take-home crafting opportunities, and there was even a story time with our favorite short stories for Christmas!

But that wasn't all...the Gloucester Catholic High School choir, West Deptford Little Theatre, and West Deptford Township Tiny Miss, Little Miss, Miss Teen, and Miss Pageant winners were all on hand to entertain and wow the crowd.

Finally, the contemporary classic POLAR EXPRESS was shown to the delight of all those in attendance.

It was an amazing evening and we're already looking forward to 2010! Hope to see you there!

December is in Full Gear at the 'Winds!

The weather is a little nutty, but December is shaping up nicely at RiverWinds! We look to finish out 2009 with a bang, hosting the Annual Christmas Party Spectacular on Friday the 11th at 6:30 p.m., but that's not all: we're still collecting items for the Mayor's Annual Food & Toy Drive (and our members and residents are showing their Christmas Spirit in spades!), we're hosting Parent's Night Out on the 18th, where members can get in some last minute conference calls with Santa, and have a three-hour Holiday Spin on Saturday the 19th!

It's been a tough year for a lot of people, but we at RiverWinds love sharing in the lives of our members, who are not just patrons, but friends...they truly put the Community in our Community Center.

Make sure to check your membership expiration date so there's no lapse in your membership...and remember, our Electronic Funds Transfer (auto-debit from a checking or savings) makes it easy to continue to renew year after year!

We look forward to another spectacular year with you in 2010. See you soon!
