Keep in mind, there's been some changes to the American Red Cross Swim Lesson Program: the biggest change is that we now offer Preschool swim lessons for children ages 4 and 5 years old. Levels A and B are intended for children ages 6 months to 3 years old, with the assistance of a parent. If your child is older but still needs the help of a parent, continue to enroll in Level B. If your child is ready for swim lessons without the assistance of a parent, enroll the child in Preschool lessons. The regular Preschool class is similar to Level 1, except it is focused on our younger swimmers – ages 4 and 5 years old. The Advanced Preschool class is for the same age group, and it is intended to be for those who are starting to swim independently. The Learn-to-Swim program (Levels 1 – 6) is recommended for children ages 6 and older, as well as those children who have successfully completed the Advanced Preschool class.
