RiverWinds and Residents Partner to Support Our Troops!
We can't think of too many causes better than those that support our Armed Forces. And West Deptford residents seem to agree! TWO drives are being headquartered in the RiverWinds Lobby...read on!
Cub Scout Pack 296 is helping our troops call home by setting up a branch of Cell Phones for Soldiers. More than 150,000 troops are serving abroad, and Cell Phones for Soldiers is calling on all Americans to support them by donating old cell phones. Cell Phones for Soldiers hopes to collect over 50,000 no-longer used mobile devices this year. Proceeds will be used to purchase calling cards for our armed forces so they can stay connected with their families. Look into CellPhonesForSoldiers.com for details about the organization, or contact Cubmaster Nancy Barna at NancyBarna@verizon.net for information regarding Pack 296 and their quest to help.
Also, Cara Jankauskas is a local Girl Scout working to attain her Silver Award, the highest award given to Cadette scouters. For her requisite service project, she wishes to support our men and women serving overseas, as well, and is collecting snacks and toilettries that she can send abroad, in a dropbox in the lobby, which will be there until July 1st. Monetary donations can help offset the cost of shipping, as well, and sent to 364 Hessian Avenue, W. Deptford, NJ 08093.
RiverWinds is proud to help host both of these extraordinary drives, and proud of our local youth who continue to set a tremendous example for Americans everywhere.
