RiverWinds Community Center offers American Red Cross certifications in half the time at half the cost! As an Authorized Provider, our certified instrutors guide you through classes necessary for your personal or professional use during wither a conveniently scheduled class or appointment-based recertification. We remain a flexible and economical alternative to most other facilities!
Professional CPR/AED Recertification The traditional refresher course for those who have taken the Red Cross class since January of 2007, good for two years (with the exception of Lifeguards, who will recieve an annual certification). **PLEASE MENTION IF CERTIFICATION IS FOR LIFEGUARDING PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT! Next Class: Monday, December 6, 2010 6:30 p.m. (Cut-Off Date for Enrollment: November 29. 2010)
Life Guarding Extensive training includes all necessary skills to be a pool-side lifeguard for a three-year certification. Class includes one-year certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and three-year certification in First Aid. Participants must have excellent swimming skills. Price includes all required texts and first aid supplies. Attendance at entirety of all classes required for certification eligibility. Next class:Thursday December 2nd through Sunday December 5th. 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, & 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday. (Open to the first 12 enrollments; cut off date for enrollment: November 18, 2010) ONLY NINE SPOTS REMAIN!
Small Group Certification Does your workplace or community organization need particular certifications for liscensing or personal information? Groups of 6 or more can request private trainings with mutual availability from instructors and facilities. Call for more details!

Please remember there are NO REFUNDS once class begins! Written notice of cancellation received 72 hours prior to the start of the first class is required for refunds. Participants must attend the ENTIRETY of ALL classes. Enrollments are open to non-residents and are on a first-come, first-served basis. No wait lists are utilized and class sizes can not exceed pre-determined numbers for any reason.

Session 5 Youth Classes

Clay for Kids Time to turn the pottery wheel and learn how to work with clay as you design your own clay pot and decorate it to your liking. Make sure you are wearing clothing that can be covered in your work! Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm from 9/22 - 10/27 for those 9-15 years of age.
Parents’ Night Out Parents, you deserve a night out! RiverWinds is offering a program for our members. Do not look any longer for that special sitter for your child. The third Friday of every month, RiverWinds will offer a sitting service. A 48-hour notice is required. The children and a child care provider will participate in activities, games, or a night of movies. We will provide a snack and entertainment. 9/17 and 10/15 for those children 3-11 years of age.
Spookypalooza Come to RiverWinds and spend Friday Night with the goblins, ghosts, and witches. There will be games, prizes, and surprises, and as ever, fun for everyone! Don't miss the Halloween games in the lobby and our Annual Costume Parade in the Community Room. Friday, October 29th from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. in the lobby. All ages welcome!
Craft of the Month Kids 6-11 can join us once a month for some craft-making! Here’s what we’ll be featuring in September and October:

Tuesday, October 19th from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.: Create-A-Crazy Pumpkin

Jewelry Making Workshop Learn to mix and match an assortment of beads and stones to create a unique bracelet, keychain, or earrings. Supplies included. 10/4 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Oil Painting Lessons Artists of all abilities are invited to join renowned South Jersey artist Woody Platt in the experience of oils. Tuesday evenings this fall from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
