Spring 2010: Health and Safety Programming

RiverWinds Community Center remains a dedicated Authorized Provider for the American Red Cross, providing you with flexible and economical opportunities to acquire the training you need. Our certified instructors guide you through any class necessary for your personal or professional use during conveniently scheduled classes or private group lessons. PLEASE NOTE: CPR/AED CERTIFICATIONS FOR PROFESSIONAL RESCUERS & HEATHCARE PROVIDERS ARE NOW VALID FOR TWO YEARS!

PLEASE NOTE:
• Participants must attend the entirety of all classes in order to pass any individual course.
• Prices of all full certification courses include any required text materials, face shields, and/or first aid supplies.
• There are no refunds once class begins.

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer & Heathcare Provider Recertification Advanced CPR and defibrillator training for repeat participants. Enrollment is confirmation of class; no reminder correspondence will be forwarded prior to class beginning. (If a cancellation occurs, participants will be notified by phone.) Ages 10+ Tuesday, June 15th, 2010: 6:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Registration Cut Off Date: 6/9/10

Life Guarding Certification Learn proper rescue entries and approaches, how to control multiple victim and spinal injuries, guarding theory, and much more. Includes CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid. CPR/AED certification valid for two years; First Aid/Life Guarding good for three. Participants must have excellent swimming skills. Each class will begin in either the classroom prior to entry into the pool. Ages 15+ Day(s): Thursday - Sunday Time(s): 4-9:00 p.m. Thurs. - Fri.; Sat., 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Sun. 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Registration Cut Off Date: 5/27/10 6:00 p.m. Sun.

American Red Cross Blood Drive Show your community spirit and help combat the chronic shortage of blood in the Delaware Valley. If you are over 17 (or have your parent’s permission), have not donated in the past 56 days, and weigh at least 110 pounds, call 856.251.0990 x103 to make an appointment to donate on Friday, August 20th, between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Private Health & Safety Certifications: Does your workplace, club, or religious group need a certification not scheduled this Spring? Your group of 3 or more can schedule a private certification! Dates and times may vary. Please call 856-251-0990 x 103 for more information.

Boy Scouts of America/Girl Scouts of America Badge Counseling Sessions: Boy and Girl Scout troops can earn advancement (badges, merit badges, belt loops, etc.) in the areas of Aquatics and Health & Safety and complete BSA Swim Tests at the RiverWinds Community Center.
