4th of July Week

It's Fourth of July week already? Where did June go? We at RiverWinds hope that you've been enjoying the start to your - overwhelmingly hot and storm-driven - summer. We've been staying as busy as ever during Session 3 which ends on Saturday.

After a rain-out to start, the Summer Concert series has been awesome. Last Friday's Sensational Soul Cruisers boasted record numbers so far for 2012 and we're looking forward to hosting The Inferno's next Friday, the 13th. Nope, there's no concert this weekend due to the holiday and the scores of people who beat the heat and got out of town this week!

Other great June activities were Discover SCUBA and the start to our next Open Water SCUBA class. We continue to see people flock to this incredible adventure sport and love to see our members, residents, and non-residents find new ways to enjoy the water. There's still lots of SCUBA classes scheduled for this year, so check out the website for details to see how you can fit a class into your schedule!

Craft lovers of all ages were able to take advantage of the Sea Glass Picture Frame workshop, where members and non-members, residents and non-residents were able to participate in a fun summertime craft. Kids weren't left out either, as they made personalized headbands and visors to sport until school starts again.

Most importantly, we hosted our first ever Family Health & Fitness Night! On June 25th, our residents and members were gifted with free classes and scores of free screenings and activitities for the entire family. A hit with the kids was the Moon Bounce while Mom and Dad enjoyed chair massage and Chobani yogurt. Our trainers were on hand to demo the newest equipment available to get that summer shape you're still after, and indoor tennis was another great activity in the lobby! Check out our Facebook page for pictures. We're looking forward to seeing this already amazing event grow for years to come.

Remember, there is no Free Week prior to Session 4 beginning: we jump right in on Sunday the 8th. And jot down our July 4th holiday hours: the pools will close at 11:30 a.m. and the rest of the facility at noon. Finally, beginning last week, the facility will close at 8:00 p.m. on Friday evenings thru the end of the concert series.

Our Session 4 Booklet should be uploaded to our website by tomorrow, so keep an eye out for a first peek at the activities and programs we're offering thru September 8th: yes, Session 4 runs for nine weeks this year, though at the end of August, there may be some individual changes to class schedules to accommodate instructor and facility availability, particularly during Maintenance Week in the pool area beginning August 27th. We'll keep you posted!

In the mean time, have a wonderful, safe holiday week surrounded by those you love, and we hope you check in with us, too: we love to see you!
