Health & Safety Classes

RiverWinds Community Center offers American Red Cross certifications in half the time at half the cost! As an Authorized Provider, our certified instrutors guide you through classes necessary for your personal or professional use during wither a conveniently scheduled class or appointment-based recertification. We remain a flexible and economical alternative to most other facilities!


Professional CPR/AED Recertification The traditional refresher course for those who have taken the Red Cross class since January of 2007, good for two years (with the exception of Lifeguards, who will recieve an annual certification). **PLEASE MENTION IF CERTIFICATION IS FOR LIFEGUARDING PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT! Next Class: Monday, December 6, 2010 6:30 p.m. (Cut-Off Date for Enrollment: November 29. 2010)

Life Guarding Extensive training includes all necessary skills to be a pool-side lifeguard for a three-year certification. Class includes one-year certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and three-year certification in First Aid. Participants must have excellent swimming skills. Price includes all required texts and first aid supplies. Attendance at entirety of all classes required for certification eligibility. Next class:Thursday December 2nd through Sunday December 5th. 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, & 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday. (Open to the first 12 enrollments; cut off date for enrollment: November 18, 2010) ONLY NINE SPOTS REMAIN!

Small Group Certification Does your workplace or community organization need particular certifications for liscensing or personal information? Groups of 6 or more can request private trainings with mutual availability from instructors and facilities. Call for more details!

Please remember there are NO REFUNDS once class begins! Written notice of cancellation received 72 hours prior to the start of the first class is required for refunds. Participants must attend the ENTIRETY of ALL classes. Enrollments are open to non-residents and are on a first-come, first-served basis. No wait lists are utilized and class sizes can not exceed pre-determined numbers for any reason.
