Welcome, 2012!

Welcome, 2012! We have been bursting with members, veteran and new alike, who are clear in their resolutions for the new year: get in shape, spend quality time with the family, and enjoy life. Lucky for them, it's all right here! RiverWinds is THE place for family, fun, and fitness, and we love seeing so many of our residents, members, and guests getting all they can out of our multi-purpose facility.

Those last few weeks of 2011 were filled to bursting with classes and events in the gyms and beyond. Our Christmas Eve SHRED was a huge hit, as was the free Piloxing classes and New Years Eve ZUMBA and 3-Hour spin classes. You holiday revelers know how to party! The energy our participants brought was outstanding. We also hosted a wrestling tournament on New Years Eve which welcomed hundreds of grapplers of all ages, as well as their families, for some end of year competition, and held an AARP Drivers Safety Course for seniors. Who says the holidays have to be stressful with so many opportunities for Me Time at the 'Winds?

2012 has already been rung in with a bang...we have had oodles of new memberships since Monday from people ready to get in shape in the new year, and the January Pass, offering unlimited land and water classes thru February 4th, is selling like hotcakes! Have you picked up yours yet? You also have the opportunity to purchase your 2012 Super Class Pass, allowing unlimited classes for the entirety of 2012, including the January Pass, for the bargain price of only $140.

Lots of great clinics and events on the horizon, too: the semi-annual American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Friday, February 3rd, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in the Community Room. Our 2012 Health and Safety schedule has been posted, CPR/AED and Lifeguarding classes are open, and we're accepting enrollments! We have some adult pottery workshops on 1/12, 1/18, and 1/23 at 7:00 p.m. for only $12 a person, and non-residents are welcome, too! Not to be outdone, our kids' 6-12 craft nights will be on 1/11 and 1/18 at 7:00 p.m. for $20, making papier mache animals , and tots 3-6 can make doll crafts for only $12 on 1/19.
