Mommy and Me Art: Trash to Treasures

What do they say: "One man's trash is another man's treasure." Well, that is just what we were thinking on January 16, 2015 except it was turning one woman's trash to treasure! Friday night was Mommy and Me art night at the RiverWinds Community Center. There was no need for anyone to bring their own material, all of the "trash" was supplied right here at the facility just waiting to be transformed into your treasure.

This class inspires you to never throw away any old materials again. For the first time, the beauty of reformed trash just amazes each participant. Old clothes, wire beads, and old buttons were repurposed into wonderful poetic art that you will treasure forever.

It doesn't get much better than to spend a cold winter Friday night making art with your child and watching their face glow with excitement. Art is great way for a child to express their emotions, creativity, thinking, knowledge, and ideas. It is simply a remarkable way to share time with the one you love. When you get home, you find a special place to hang your new artwork and see your child shine with confidence each time he takes a look at his/her masterpiece.
