Pillar 360 Coming to RiverWinds

A Look at the Newest Fitness Class.

The sweat was quickly falling from faces and forearms while participants  had their hands on their  knees, desperately trying to enjoy every second of the 30 second break they were given by the instructor.

These brave souls were taking part in a test class of what will be one of the newest summer classes offered:The Pillar 360 Class,  which will be held every Tuesday and Thursday night in the Auxiliary Gym starting at 5 o'clock.

"Every class will be different, so people who take this class will never be able to get in a routine, what we do one class, won't be the same in the next one," said Josh Roane, the lead instructor for Pillar 360.

The dumbbells and barbells will be left upstairs.

The 45 minute class will use things like ropes, bands, kettlebells, slam balls, and other resistance type equipment to test your endurance and strength, as the instructors utilize almost every minute they have.

"I thought I was in decent shape, but wow," said one of the six participants who took the test class.

When the classes start, Roane says it can hold about 16 people. However, the class is bound to draw a lot more than that in spectators. During test classes, people couldn't look away. Participants in the spin class that was about to get underway gathered near the spin room window to watch the action. On the other side of the Auxiliary gym, people just getting done a Zumba class packed around the Fitness room window to see the latest challenge the RiverWinds fitness team unveiled.

The class starts May 26th. It will cost $6 and you must be at least 14 years old to participate.

All Fitness levels are welcome to attend.
