Session 6 2009 Fitness Class Descriptions

Classes listed below meet 1X/week for 6 weeks; $25 Members, $28 Non-Member Residents

• Ab, Jabs and Kicks: A kickboxing class that is non-stop, non-contact and includes tons of kicks, punches, blocks and footwork. AL

• Body Blast: This class is a blast! Focusing on intervals of cardio to help you shape the body you want. AL

• Body Challenge: Intervals of cardio and strength training. Great music, great energy, great results! AL

• Cardio Remix: Aerobics, Step, Cardio Kickboxing and more all swirled into one heart pumpin' workout designed to burn fat. AL

• Cardio Surprise: A variety of cardio floor aerobics, step and some added kick boxing. AL

• Cardio X-Train: Calorie-burning cardio intervals that may include kickboxing, plyometrics, jump rope, athletic drills and weight training. This fun class will elevate your heart rate and shape your muscles. AL

• Core Upper/Lower Cuts: Shape and define the upper and lower body with effective, time-efficient methods using a variety of equipment. AL

• Pedal Power: Rise and shine in this spinning class with intervals of strength training in between. AL

• Powerflex: The original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. AL

• Power Yoga: Is a more rigorous form of yoga characterized by a flowing series of poses practiced in continual and rapid succession. AL

• Rock N Bottom: A lower body workout designed to strengthen and tone the glutes, hips, thighs and abs. AL

• Spinning Get on and start climbing. You’re going to love it. You’re going to hate it. You’re going to feel the results. Please bring a towel! AL

• Sun Style 73: This tai chi class includes warm-up, balance and wind-down exercises, along with a weekly practice of The 5 Element Qigong. The movement series is comprised of 73 steps. AL

• Tai Chi: Want to relax and relieve stress? End your day with the centuries-old practices of Qigong and Tai Chi to encourage the flow of energy throughout the body and clear out the energy blockages from your work day. AL

• Toning & Abs: Calorie-burning cardio intervals that may include kickboxing, plyometrics, jump rope, athletic drills and weight training. This fun class will elevate your heart rate and shape your muscles. AL

• Vinyasa Yoga: Flowing sequences that are linked to the breath. Experience benefits such as increased strength, endurance, and flexibility. AL

• Yoga Fusion: Move your body to the chill music that will touch your soul. A combination of power yoga, light weights and stretching to improve flexibility and strength. AL

• Wedding Dances: NEW INSTRUCTOR! Just in time for those weddings or holiday parties that are around the corner. You’ll be the first on the dance floor. Learn the latest line dances, the box step, hustle and slow dances. No partners needed, but helpful. Ladies can learn to lead. Wear casual clothes. NO sneakers please! AL

• ZUMBA®: NEW CLASS! Combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations that allow the participants to dance away their worries. AL

Senior Classes listed below meet 2X/week for 6 weeks; $37 Members, $41 Non-Member Residents

• Senior Stretch: This class will safely and gently increase your flexibility and help tone muscles. Your everyday activities will become easier by improving coordination and agility. Stretching and toning enhances circulation, reduces stress, and benefits many types of arthritis. Stretching and toning can improve your overall health. AL

• Mind/Body 55: Slow down, breathe, and deepen your practice. A gentle form of stretching and strengthening for seniors that combines both fitness and yoga traditions. AL

Senior Classes listed below meet 1X/week for 6 weeks, $6 Members, $13 Non-Member Residents

• Senior Outdoor Walk: The journey will continue! Start your exercise program today. Join Nancy on an adventurous walk outside every Monday morning. DRESS WARM! Pedometers will be given out to all participants. AL

Classes listed below meet 2X/week for 6 weeks; $44 Members, $49 Non-Member Residents

• Spinning: Get on and start climbing. You’re going to love it. You’re going to hate it. You’re going to feel the results. Please bring a towel! For all levels!
